Progress

I’ve been trying to keep myself busy for the past month and spending time on my own projects. Here’s a quick peak of what is coming up next! Back to printing on Friday. Hopefully I won’t be as rusty this time around…

Up There

I came across this short documentary recently about the old profession of sign painting. This again reaffirms my love for what I do, and I hope this give people more appreciation about things that they see day to day.

Mini Graphics

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

My work for Rita Di Cesare was published in Mini Graphics recently. I’ll take the credit for the custom word mark, and the rest is a collabo between Rita and I. I’m not really sure where you can purchase the book, but their general distributor is Promo Press from Spain. I almost forgot that I design things too.

Typeface documentary

Often times, after a long day of work, I wonder why I still do so much work by hand (about 70%). Just yesterday I sat for the entire day drawing the same things over and over again. Then I saw this, and remembered why. There’s a constant sense of urgency dealing with the digital world. Everything is expected to be done pronto and people seem to be lacking patience more and more (I’m not in anyway exempt). Our hands can do much more than just type and move a mouse around all day and it’s depressing to think that a majority of us in this profession are doing only just that on the daily. Anyway. Maybe I’m just getting old.
